Cosmetic ingredient policy

How bulk cosmetic ingredients are supplied here: what the documentation establishes, what it does not, and where responsibility for a finished product sits.

Not reviewed by counsel

Northlake Peptide Laboratories, Inc. is a demonstration brand and this document is a structurally complete placeholder, not legal advice and not a reviewed agreement. It states the intended position in plain terms so that a lawyer has something concrete to correct. Do not rely on it, and do not publish it in a live store without review by qualified counsel in your jurisdiction.

1.The supply statement, in full

Bulk cosmetic ingredient supplied business-to-business for formulation. Not a finished cosmetic product and not for direct consumer use.

Materials in the cosmetic line are bulk raw ingredients supplied business-to-business for incorporation into finished personal-care products by a manufacturer. They are not finished cosmetics, they are not packaged or labelled for consumer use, and they are not supplied to individuals.

2.Where responsibility sits

This is the section that decides most questions on this page, so it comes first.

Under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act as amended by the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act, obligations attach to the responsible person for a finished cosmetic — the manufacturer, packer, or distributor whose name appears on the label. Those obligations include facility registration, product listing, adequate substantiation of safety, adverse-event recordkeeping, and label compliance.

Supplying you with an ingredient does not transfer any of that to us, and nothing we provide discharges it. An ingredient specification establishes what the material is. It establishes nothing about whether your formulation is safe, whether your claims are supportable, or whether your label is compliant — those depend on your formula, concentration, packaging, preservation, stability, and intended use, none of which we see.

We will not review your formula, approve your label, or confirm that a finished product is fit for sale. A supplier who did any of those things would be giving an assurance it has no basis for.

3.Who may buy from this line

Orders from this line ship to verified business accounts only. Business verification is reviewed before an order is accepted.

Accounts are opened for manufacturers, contract formulators, brand owners, and product-development laboratories. We ask what the organisation is and what the material is being evaluated for. We do not sell bulk ingredients to individuals for personal or home-made use, at any quantity.

Bulk raw ingredients are supplied at concentrations intended for dilution into a formula. They are not consumer-ready, and handling them assumes a formulation function with the equipment and controls that implies.

4.What we provide, and what it means

  • INCI identification where an INCI name exists for the material, so it can be carried into your label declaration. An INCI name is a naming convention, not an approval.
  • A lot-matched certificate of analysis reporting what was measured on the batch you receive, by stated methods, on a stated date.
  • A safety data sheet covering the raw material as supplied — hazard classification, handling, storage, and transport. An SDS addresses occupational handling of the bulk material, not consumer safety of a finished product containing it.
  • Storage and stability conditions for the material as supplied, in its original packaging.

We do not supply usage levels, formulation guidance, efficacy data, claim substantiation, stability or compatibility data for your formula, preservative-efficacy results, or consumer safety assessments. Where a figure of that kind is needed, it has to come from testing your formulation, not from an ingredient sheet.

5.Claims

We make no efficacy, appearance, anti-ageing, or performance claim for any material in this catalog, and we do not supply copy, studies, or figures for you to use in marketing a finished product. Substantiation is the responsibility of whoever makes the claim, and a claim you make about your product is yours regardless of which ingredient prompted it.

A cosmetic claim that crosses into affecting the structure or function of the body, or into treating or preventing a condition, makes the product a drug under US law however it is marketed. That line is yours to stay on the right side of, and it is a common way an otherwise ordinary cosmetic becomes an unapproved drug.

You may not represent that Northlake Peptide Laboratories, Inc. has approved, endorsed, or verified a finished product, or attribute a claim to us that we have not made in writing.

6.Uses we exclude

Materials from this line may not be:

  • used in or as a drug, food, dietary supplement, or medical device, or in anything intended to be ingested or injected;
  • administered to a human being or an animal other than as a component of a finished cosmetic applied externally in normal use;
  • repackaged or resold as a consumer product without further formulation, or supplied to a consumer as a raw ingredient;
  • used in a product intended for a route of exposure the material was not supplied for.

Any of these is a breach of the terms of sale. Materials intended for laboratory work are a separate line with separate restrictions — see the research use policy.

7.Status of this catalog

This catalog contains structured placeholder records rather than a real product list. No INCI name, specification, or availability figure on this site has been verified, and nothing here should be relied on for formulation or for a regulatory filing. The full statement is in the terms.
