Accessibility statement

The target for this site is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We state this as a target and a set of measures taken, not as a certified conformance claim: no independent audit has been carried out, and a claim of full conformance without one would be exactly the kind of unverified assertion the rest of this site is built to avoid.

The two success criteria added in WCAG 2.2 that most often catch a store of this kind — target size and focus appearance — are treated as requirements here rather than as nice-to-haves.

• Keyboard operation throughout. Every control — navigation, catalog filters, variant selection, cart, checkout — is reachable and operable by keyboard, in a logical order, with no keyboard trap. A skip link is the first focusable element on every page.
• Visible focus. A high-contrast focus ring is drawn on every interactive element and is never removed, including on elements that also have a hover style.
• Target size. Interactive controls are at least 44 by 44 CSS pixels, or have equivalent spacing, including facet links and quantity controls.
• Structure. One h1 per page, headings in order, landmarks for header, navigation, main, and footer, and lists marked up as lists so a screen reader announces their length.
• Contrast. Text and interface components are checked against the AA contrast thresholds in both light and dark rendering.
• Motion. Animation is limited to short opacity and transform changes and is disabled entirely under prefers-reduced-motion. Nothing moves, flashes, or autoplays.
• Forms. Every field has a visible, associated label; errors are listed in text, announced, and describe what to do rather than only what failed.
• Images. All illustrations are original SVG. Decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology; informative artwork has alt text describing the drawing rather than making a claim about the product it accompanies.
• No hover-only content. Menus and disclosures open on click or keypress and stay open until dismissed.
• Works without JavaScript. Catalog filtering, sorting, and the document library are driven by URL parameters and plain links, so they function with scripting disabled.

Stated plainly rather than omitted:

• No independent audit. Testing to date is automated checking plus manual keyboard and structure review by the build team. No assistive-technology user testing has been done.
• Screen-reader coverage is untested. The markup follows the applicable patterns, but behaviour has not been verified across VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.
• Data tables are wide. Specification and document tables scroll horizontally within their own container at small viewport sizes. They are marked up with proper headers, but a wide table remains harder to read on a phone.
• Search autocomplete. The combobox follows the ARIA authoring practice pattern, but it has not been verified with a screen reader in use.

These are listed as open items rather than resolved ones. They will be updated as they are closed, and the QA report in the repository records what was actually measured.
